||
Dear Resident, Police are asking a dog walker who may have witnessed a robbery in Welwyn Garden City to come forward. At around 8.40pm on Friday (19 September), a 16-year-old boy was walking in Knightsfield Park when he was reportedly threatened with a knife. He had his mobile phone stolen and was assaulted, sustaining facial injuries. Following a fast-time investigation, a 17-year-old boy from Potters Bar and a 16-year-old boy from Stevenage were arrested on suspicion of robbery. They have been released on bail pending further enquiries. Detective Constable Matthew Paterson, who is investigating, said: “I appreciate the nature of this incident is concerning, and I am appealing for anyone with information to please get in touch. “It appears a male, who was out walking two dogs in the area at the time, may have seen what happened. I am appealing for this person to come forward as they may hold vital information. “If you saw what happened, or have any further details that might help, please email me via Matthew.Paterson@herts.police.uk.” You can also report information online at herts.police.uk/report, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference 41/89237/25. Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.
